Stotra Vandana ("us", "we", or "our") operates the "Stotra Vandana" mobile application and website (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.
We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information Collection and Use
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.
Types of Data Collected
Personal Data
Browsing and using the app for its core purpose — reading, searching, and
favouriting stotras — does not require you to provide any personal information.
If you choose to sign in with Google (via Firebase Authentication) for a
personalized experience, we collect the following from your Google account:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (if available on your Google account)
- Your profile photo
- A unique account identifier (UID) used to recognize your account
We use this information to identify your account, link your saved favourite stotras to it, and pre-fill forms like Contact Us. We do not sell this information to anyone.
If you use our in-app "Contact Us" form — whether to ask a question, suggest an edit to a stotra, or request account deletion — we collect the name, email address, and message you provide, along with your anonymous installation identifier, in order to respond to you.
Location & Preference Data
In Settings, you can choose an approximate location (Indian state), a Panchang
calendar convention (Amanta or Purnimanta), and an app display language. You set
these manually — the app does not access your device's GPS or precise location.
These preferences are linked to your anonymous installation identifier and stored
on our servers so they stay applied across sessions and so we can show you the
correct regional Panchang details and interface language.
Usage & Device Data
We may also collect information on how the Service is accessed and used ("Usage
Data"). When you use our mobile app, this may include an anonymous
installation identifier, your device brand, manufacturer and model, operating
system and version, and a push-notification token used to deliver notifications
to your device. This anonymous identifier is generated automatically on first
launch and does not require you to sign in or provide any personal information.
When you access our website, this may include your Internet Protocol (IP)
address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, and the time and date of
your visit.
Voice Search & Microphone Data
Our mobile app offers an optional voice search feature. If you choose to use it,
we request permission to access your device's microphone. Your speech is
processed by your device's built-in speech-recognition service (for example,
Google's on-device speech services on Android) to convert it into text. We do
not record, store, or transmit your voice audio to our own servers — only the
resulting text of your search query is sent to us to perform the search.
Analytics Data
We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand how the app is used — for
example, which screens are viewed and which features (such as search, favourites,
or Settings changes) are used. These events are linked to your anonymous
installation identifier, not to your name or email, unless you have signed in with
Google. We use this information only to improve the Service and do not sell it to
any third party.
Advertising
We use third-party advertising companies (such as Google AdMob) to display ads within the Service. These companies may use device identifiers — including your device's advertising ID (e.g. Google Advertising ID on Android) — and other technologies to collect information about your use of the Service and other apps/websites in order to provide advertisements tailored to your interests. This information is subject to the respective advertising provider's own privacy policy. You may be able to opt out of personalized advertising, or reset/delete your advertising ID, through your device's settings.
Tracking & Cookies Data
On our website, we use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity and hold certain information.
Cookies are files with small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. Tracking technologies also used are beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our Service. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.
Third-Party Services
We work with third-party services to operate the Service, including Google Sign-In (via Firebase Authentication), Firebase Analytics, push-notification delivery, and advertising providers (Google AdMob). These third parties may have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
Account & Data Deletion
If you would like to request deletion of your account, or deletion of specific data (such as your favourites or device tracking record) without deleting your account, see our Delete Your Account & Data page for step-by-step instructions. In short, you can submit a request via the "Contact Us" option in the app's navigation menu, or by emailing contact@exaqsoft.com. We will process your request within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal or legitimate business purposes.
Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
Security
The security of your data is important to us. We take reasonable measures to protect your Personal Data, but no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you by updating the effective date at the top of this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
